Hand Department: Crafting Tangible Artistry
The Hand Department at Knotti is the hub for artists who work in traditional, tactile mediums such as painting, woodcarving, pottery, textiles, culinary arts, and creative writing. Their skilled hands bring a handmade quality to Knotti’s artistic output.

Key Responsibilities:
Organizing hands-on art workshops and classes, including those focused on stage performance, screenwriting, and other literary arts, utilizing open-source tools like Moodle for online learning management.
Curating gallery exhibitions and live performances that showcase the diverse mediums and techniques of our Hand artists, potentially leveraging open-source content management systems like Drupal or Joomla.
Collaborating with the Eye and Ear Departments to integrate handcrafted elements, such as set design, props, and costumes, into multimedia projects, using open-source design software like Inkscape and Blender.
Documenting the creative process of Hand artists through behind-the-scenes videos, interviews, and social media content, utilizing open-source video editing tools like OpenShot and Kdenlive.
Promoting the work of Hand artists through Knotti’s online platforms, offline events, and social media channels, leveraging open-source publishing tools like WordPress and soon, Diaspora Social Networking.
